This course will give the pupils knowledge about:
- the background reasons why we experience sea level rises.
- where problems will arise, now and in the future, because of sea level rises.
- how it is attempted locally to counter sea level rise problems.
- how digital tools may be used to visualise global problems.
Introduction to the subject
A short introduction to the subject is presented so the pupils get an idea of why it is important.
This lesson plan includes lab activities and online activities. Some activities can take place in a science class room an some can take place online. The choice is yours.

This experiment demonstrates how ice on land may contribute to sea level rise when it melts.
Sea ice
This experiment shows how sea ice does not change the sea level when it melts.
Temperature
This experiment shows how the water temperature may affect the sea level.
