Introduction, aims and target groups

Lesson aims and goals

  • Students understand the reasons behind the growing need for ‘new’ clean electricity generation
  • Students embrace ‘new’ information and concepts allowing for expansive investigation of nano and micro technology
  • Students formulate clear and precise method for their research proposal.


Unit of Work Aims

  • Students will design and manufacture a prototype of one of their designs, which is capable of producing clean renewable energy
  • Students can present this product/solution to a group of students/teachers and defend the model with relevant research
  • Students can prove they have built up an in depth knowledge and understanding of their area of focus within the green energy field.


Assessment

  • Students should be assessed by the level of creative mapping through analytical thinking and communication
  • Students should be assessed on the overall methodical approach to assignment
  • Students should receive a brief electronic questionnaire prior to the end of the lesson, encapsulating the contents and knowledge through precisely formulated questions.
