Target group – education and subjects
The target group for this lesson plan series is primary and lower secondary school pupils in the middle and oldest classes for science (physics, chemistry, biology and geography) and social studies – with opportunities for interdisciplinary cooperation.
Learning aims
The aim of the teaching is that the pupils:
- know about the carbon cycle
- know the significance of CO2 on the green house effect
- know about the various ways that private individuals can use to utilise renewable energy
- know the technology behind and the arguments for private individuals utilising renewable energy.
Technological resources required
- Internet access - This lesson plan series is based on information from the Internet, so access to computers with Internet connection is essential
- Interactive whiteboard - it would be a major advantage if there is an interactive whiteboard in the classroom
- The pupils should have access to using digital cameras for use when producing presentations
- The use of wikis is suggested for the pupils’ logbooks and communication with other classes.
