Nordic Climate Day was a joint initiative by the education ministers in the Nordic countries and it was designed to provide a boost to the teaching of climate issues in the Region and to promote co-operation between teachers and students in the different countries.

The event on Nordic Climate Day consisted of

1. a text message quiz with 15 questions on climate
2. a Climate Mission.

On the map below youngsters from across the region presents their visions of how best and most creatively to draw attention to climate problems through audio, movies, images, etc.

"It's important to get youngsters involved in climate issues as early as possible because they are the ones who will inherit the problems and also the ones, who will have to find future solutions. Nordic Climate Day is our way of making a major impact on climate teaching in the Region," commented Halldór Ásgrímsson, the Secretary General of the Nordic Council of Ministers.
