The Climate Mystery – Prepare your students for Tomorrow’s Climate Challenges

The Climate Mystery is a unique online learning universe that teachers can use as a framework - or as inspiration - for climate teaching. A full curriculum, based on detailed dialogues with teachers from 15 countries, provides highly relevant climate topics and multiple learning methods. It enables students from 12 to 18 years old to discuss and reflect on the consequences of the world’s climate changes.

See introduction video here opens a new window).

The Climate Mystery provides all necessary teaching materials and assignments and all parts are free of charge.

From September 14, 2009 teachers and students all over the world can experience how natural science and global climate challenges can be captivating and dramatic. It can easily be combined with other subjects, such as Social Studies, Maths and English (as a native and second language instruction).

The Climate Mystery (opens a new window) combines dramatic stories, problem-based assignments, social media, and gameplay in a learning universe. The overall learning objectives are to challenge the students intellectually and to create a curiosity and a desire to know more about climate changes.

In addition to the detailed teaching materials on www.innovativeteachers.com (opens a new window) a teacher’s guide will be available, explaining the purpose, subject areas, time requirements, educational basis and practical & technical requirements, as well as giving good overview of the content and lesson planning.

Each teacher is free to use as few or as many of the 16 climate subjects (the link opens an Adobe pdf file) as he or she wishes.
