International teachers’ conference on Inspiring Climate Education - ICE09

ICE09 - Inspiring Climate in Education

The conference was held in Copenhagen, Denmark, October 12-14, 2009 and was part of the Danish Ministry of Education's project Climate Education 2009.

In cooperation with the Danish Ministry of Education, Danish Science Communication presented an inspiring program on this first conference of its kind.

Presentations on climate change, teaching methods, and the role of informal learning settings alternating with workshops that developed recommendations to future practice in the field of teaching climate change constituted the content of the three inspiring days in Copenhagen.

Climate change is high on the political agenda all over the world. United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP15) took place in Copenhagen in December of 2009, and never before has it been more relevant for teachers, decision-makers and researchers to get together and exchange ideas on how to develop innovative teaching practices in this field.

ICE09 gave the participants:

  • Information on the scientific aspect on the current climate change
  • A channel for disseminating teaching materials
  • Exchange, inspire and develop Best Practice
  • International cooperation and network.

Presentations, posters and videos from the conference is now online - don't miss it if you are teaching climate change.
